GlobalWatch CEO participates in a meeting of national leaders to assist Pennsylvania State University (PSU) in the development of a degree program in Security and Information Analysis (SIA)
GlobalWatch CEO K. David Boyer participates in a meeting of national leaders at Pennsylvania State University (PSU) in the development of a degree program in Security and Information Analysis (SIA). Mr. Boyer was chosen for his expertise in the Information Assurance market space, public: private sector relations and his dedication to national security & higher education.
The PSU SIA program results from the FBI’s creation of the National Security Higher Education Advisory Board. The board, which consists of the presidents and chancellors of several prominent U.S. universities, is designed to foster outreach and to promote understanding between higher education and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Graham Spanier, President of Pennsylvania State University, will chair the Board.
The Board will provide advice on the culture of higher education, including the traditions of openness, academic freedom, and international collaboration. The Board will seek to establish lines of communication on national priorities pertaining to terrorism, counterintelligence, and homeland security. They will also assist in the development of research, degree programs, course work, internships, opportunities for graduates, and consulting opportunities for faculty relating to national security.
As our national priorities pertaining to terrorism, counterintelligence, and homeland security become more prevalent in society, US Government intelligence and law enforcement agencies are working more and more with higher education to create programs that train the next generation of leaders in Security and Information Analysis.
"Assisting PSU and the National Security Higher Education Advisory Board in the creation of the SIA program at PSU", says >Mr. Boyer, "is a great opportunity to help shape the basis for the future of our national security efforts and more importantly, the manpower to support these efforts."
